Dr. Hochung Jeon, PT, DPT

With more than 10 years of clinical experience, Dr. Hochung Jeon is a licensed physical therapist dedicated to restoring movement and improving quality of life for his patients. He believes in treating the whole body, not just the painful area, to achieve lasting results.

From Korea to New York, more than 10 years in practice.

Advanced training in the Mulligan Concept and Functional Manual Therapy, enabling him to address root causes of pain, not just symptoms.

Dr. Hochung Jeon earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in Korea, followed by a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in New York. That path means he has been formally trained in two countries and has practiced in both.

His clinical experience spans more than 10 years: five years in private practice in Korea, then five years in New York outpatient care, including serving as Clinical Manager. At HJ Manhattan Physical Therapy he is the only clinician, and he treats every patient himself.

Alongside that experience he pursued advanced training in the Mulligan Concept and Functional Manual Therapy, which is what enables him to address root causes of pain, not just symptoms. His approach combines detailed assessment, hands-on techniques, and patient education, always delivered with empathy and respect.

Treating the whole body, not just the painful area.

Detailed assessment,
hands-on techniques, and patient education.

The place that hurts is often not the place that caused it, so Dr. Jeon's first job is always to find the difference. He assesses the whole body to uncover the true source of your discomfort, treats what he finds with his hands, and explains it to you as he goes. All of it is delivered with empathy and respect.

The Mulligan Concept

A hands-on method in which Dr. Jeon guides a joint into better position while you perform the movement that normally hurts. What happens during that movement tells him a great deal about what is actually driving the pain, and it is treatment and assessment at the same time.

Functional Manual Therapy

Hands-on work aimed at how you actually function: how a joint moves, how the tissue around it behaves, and how the rest of the body compensates for it. FMT is the training that lets Dr. Jeon work at the level of the cause rather than the symptom.

What You Can Expect

A detailed assessment first, then hands-on treatment, then an explanation of what he found and what to do between visits. Dr. Jeon treats every patient himself, from the first evaluation to the last, with no handoff to an aide or an assistant.

The one person you will see, every visit.

HJ Manhattan Physical Therapy is a solo practice, so there is no question about who will be treating you. Learn more about the practice and how it works.
