Accessibility Statement

HJ Manhattan Physical Therapy is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including patients who use assistive technology. Last reviewed September 2026.

Built to work for every patient.

We want every patient, including patients who use a screen reader, keyboard navigation, or other assistive technology, to be able to find our services and request an appointment.

HJ Manhattan Physical Therapy is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard referenced by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Section 504 rule and commonly used as the benchmark in ADA Title III accessibility matters.

This statement describes the measures we have taken, what we know still needs work, and how to tell us if something on this site is not working for you.

What we did.

Reviewed page by page,
fixed at the code level, not with an overlay.

This site was built with semantic HTML, real form labels, and descriptive alt text from the start, then given a dedicated accessibility review before launch. We deliberately did not install an accessibility overlay or widget (the kind that adds a floating icon promising instant compliance) -- those tools do not reliably fix underlying code and are not a substitute for real remediation.

Structure & Navigation

A skip-to-content link, one clear heading per section, labeled landmarks, and a visible keyboard focus indicator on every link, button, and form field.

Forms & Images

Every appointment-request field has a real label and correctly announced required fields. Every meaningful image has descriptive alt text; decorative images and icons are hidden from assistive technology.

Color, Motion & Keyboard

Text and interface colors were checked against WCAG contrast minimums and adjusted where they fell short. Animations respect your operating system's "reduce motion" setting, and every page remains readable if JavaScript does not load.

What we're still working on.

We review this site on an ongoing basis. As of this statement's last review, the items below are known limitations.

Third-Party Google Reviews Widget

The patient reviews widget on our homepage is provided and rendered by a third-party service (Elfsight). We do not control its underlying code, so we cannot fully guarantee its accessibility. Every review shown in that widget is also available in full, in plain accessible HTML, on our Testimonials page.

Ongoing Review

Accessibility is not a one-time project. We re-check this site whenever it changes, and we welcome reports of anything we've missed using the contact information below.

Tell us if something isn't working.

If you use assistive technology and run into a barrier anywhere on this site, we want to know about it and we want to fix it.
